National Planning Policy Framework Consultation

Deadline: midnight, Tuesday 10 March 2026

Please Act Now to help keep the proposed Goldbridge Farm development out of the Lewes District Council (LDC) Local Plan.

Why does this consultation matter?

A public consultation on the Government's proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) ends on Tuesday 10 March.

If the NPPF changes are made, it could force LDC to deliver housing targets which are impossible to achieve within the constraints of suitable land availability in the district. It may be forced to include unsustainable sites like Goldbridge Farm in its Local Plan, regardless of local opposition or damage to our village and the surrounding countryside, by claiming "unmet need".

We must make it clear that "unmet need" must never be used to justify over-development in Newick or other sensitive rural sites.
