We can confirm that Brookworth (South East) Ltd has appealed Lewes District Council's refusal of outline planning permission for up to 250 homes at Goldbridge Farm, Goldbridge Road, Newick (application reference LW/25/0148).
As you will recall, the Council refused the application in April 2026 on three grounds: harm to rural character and village identity, loss of productive agricultural land, and disproportionate scale of development.
At this stage we do not have further details on the appeal process or timeline. We are monitoring the situation closely and will share updates with the community as soon as more information becomes available.
